By visiting this page you have taken a brilliant step towards improving your times tables knowledge. Once equipped with this incredibly important knowledge you will find learning mathematics significantly easier than you otherwise would have.
Student and solution booklets for the Times Table Training Program are on the right. The student booklet is best suited to being printed as A4 booklets using A3 paper, though printing them one-sided on A4 paper will work just fine too. The solutions booklet work well as an electronic resource and doesn’t necessarily require printing.

To use the Times Table Training Program you will need to know how to use a multiplication grid. If you don’t know how to do this just yet that’s not a problem, you can start by heading to https://mathsquad.org/multiplication-grid for an instructional video and practice questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the finger trick for the 9 times tables?
A: Suppose you wanted to calculate 3×9. First put your hands out in front of you and curl down your third finger from the left. The fingers to the left of the curled finger represent tens (10, 20) and the fingers to the right of the curled finger represent ones (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). So the answer to 3×9 is 27. This is also shown in the picture one the right.
Q: Are there any other tricks that are helpful for remembering some of the harder times tables?
A: Yes, my favourite is “5, 6, 7, 8, 56 is 7 times 8!”
Q: I am having trouble focusing for the full training session, can I split the session into two?
A: You sure can, doing the quiz and corrections in one sitting and then completing documentation and targeted practice in another is a good option.
Q: How involved can my parents be during the training sessions?
A: It is completely up to you. The program can be completed independently if needed, though if your parents have some time available to support then they are very welcome to help. Parents can during corrections by calling out the answers or provide guidance to help choose the focus questions. However, the most valuable time to help would be asking the questions during the targeted practice as this way your parents can ensure you are engaging completely in the task and also that they spend the most time practice the questions the find the hardest to remember.
Q: I now knows all of my times tables, is there another booklet I can use to keep practicing the times tables (to make sure the facts stay fresh in their mind) without requiring the full Times Table Training Booklet?
A: Yes! The Quick Quiz Booklet is perfect for this purpose as it within it you’ll find 40 times table quizzes. Here is the student booklet, and here is the solutions booklet.
